​ The NBPEI Major U18 AAA Hockey League was established in 2002 following the decision from both Hockey New Brunswick and Hockey Prince Edward Island that there would be one top U18 hockey development league operating between the two provinces.

​The mission of the NBPEIMU18HL is to develop and govern the conduct of elite hockey players of U18 age within the provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island by developing player skills and abilities through sportsmanship, fair play, and promoting community involved while focusing on strong academic achievement.
